full class ?

OK , so I currently go to a low-ranked partly-selective school which practically only has 2 classes for each grade from 7-10 and each class rarely ever contains over 30 kids . the two classes are the A class and the X class ; A being the mainstream and X being selective .
My class started off with 30 kids , but during the first 2 terms , 1 kid left , leaving 29 people in the class . By the end of the year 2 more kids left , leaving only 27 kids .  At the beginning of next year , 1 kid left , leaving 26 . People complained about how small our class is and how other schools have around 30 in each class . Now that I think about it , a 4 people difference isn't much , but who cares right now ?
This school has a 'glitch' in it , involving students moving from the A class to the X class . I think that this is unfair . Most of the students in my class have studied hard and have been forced to devote most of their time after year 4 to study for the selective test . They have gone through the struggle and passed the selective test , gaining a spot in this school . However , in this school , students from the A class are able to score a spot in the X class just by getting a good report , constant great marks , good behaviour etc. without completing the selective test . I personally think that this is unfair , but hey~ it's not my decision .
So at the beginning of the year , 1 student moved in from the A class into the X , making the class have a total of 27 students ; 13 girls and 14 boys . People still complained about how small the class was .
In term 3 , another student from the A class moved into the X class , making a total of 28 students . The class was starting to seem full , because we had a limited number of seats in the class and we rarely swapped seats so when the student transferred into our class , she took other people's spots and forced changes into our seating plans . What I find really sad is that she kept taking my friend's spot , so she was forced to move away from the people she had been sitting with the whole year into another spot .
At the end of term 3 , we had yet another student joining the X class . The girls fussed over her before realising that there'd need to be some DRASTIC changes to be made in the seating plans . The class was full , literally . It was no longer a small 27-membered class , but rather a 29-membered class . It may only seem like a small difference , but it seems as if its a BIG difference . It's amazing how much changes 2 additional students can make and what fuss it'll cause .

8X is a small class, you say ? Small class my ass .
